Importing Contacts

CSV Format Requirements:

Agency Accounts

Agency Accounts are designed for marketing agencies, consultants, and businesses managing multiple clients. Each client gets their own dedicated workspace with separate contacts, campaigns, billing, and optional custom branding - all managed from a single agency account.

Managing Workspaces

Workspaces provide complete isolation between clients:

Workspace Features:

  • Separate Data - Each workspace has its own contacts, campaigns, and conversations
  • Dedicated Login - Each workspace can log in independently
  • Easy Switching - Agency owners can instantly switch between workspaces
  • Custom Branding - Set unique logos and colors per workspace
  • Independent Settings - SMS/Email providers configured per workspace
  • Separate Analytics - Track performance for each client individually

Creating a Workspace:

  1. Navigate to Workspace Management
  2. Click "Create Workspace"
  3. Enter workspace username (e.g., "acme-corp")
  4. Set display name (e.g., "Acme Corporation")
  5. Create a secure password for the workspace
  6. Optionally add a contact email
  7. Configure billing and branding settings

💡 Pro Tip:

Use descriptive workspace usernames (like client company names) to make switching between workspaces easy. Usernames must be lowercase with dashes only.

Per-Workspace Billing

Each workspace has its own subscription and billing:

  • Individual Plans - Each workspace can have a different plan (Free, Starter, Professional, etc.)
  • Separate Usage - Contacts, SMS, and email credits are tracked per workspace
  • Flexible Billing - Bill clients directly or absorb costs in your agency fee
  • Transparent Reporting - See exactly what each workspace is using
  • Easy Upgrades - Upgrade individual workspaces as clients grow

Starting an Agency Account:

Creating an agency account is free. You only pay for each workspace's subscription plan. Start with free workspaces and upgrade them as needed when clients are ready to scale.

Custom Branding

Make each workspace feel like your client's own platform:

  • Custom Logos - Upload client logos that appear in the sidebar
  • Company Information - Set business name, address, and website
  • Branded Experience - Workspaces see their branding when logged in
  • Agency Control - Manage all branding from the agency dashboard

Branding Setup:

  1. Open a workspace in Workspace Management
  2. Click the Settings icon for that workspace
  3. Navigate to General Settings
  4. Upload logo and enter business details
  5. Changes apply immediately to the workspace

Converting to Agency

Already have a regular account? Convert it to an agency account:

  1. Go to Settings → Account
  2. Find the "Upgrade to Agency Account" section
  3. Click "Convert to Agency Account"
  4. Enter your agency name
  5. Set up your first workspace details
  6. Choose whether to migrate existing data to the new workspace
  7. Complete the conversion

⚠️ Important:

When converting, you can choose to migrate all your existing contacts, campaigns, and data to your first workspace. This option is recommended if you want to continue working with your current data while managing new client workspaces.

Compliance & Legal

Stay compliant with GDPR, TCPA, and other data protection regulations when using Go Auto Pulse.

GDPR Compliance

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) protects the privacy and personal data of EU citizens. As a marketer using Go Auto Pulse, you need to ensure you're complying with GDPR when collecting and processing contact data.

Key GDPR Principles for Marketers:

  • Lawful Basis: You must have a legal reason to process personal data (usually consent)
  • Transparency: Be clear about how you'll use their data
  • Purpose Limitation: Only use data for the purpose you collected it
  • Data Minimization: Only collect data you actually need
  • Accuracy: Keep contact information up to date
  • Storage Limitation: Don't keep data longer than necessary
  • Security: Protect data from unauthorized access
  • Accountability: Keep records proving your compliance

Opt-Out Best Practices

Go Auto Pulse automatically handles opt-out requests to keep you compliant. Here's how it works:

Automatic Opt-Out Keywords:

When a contact sends any of these keywords, they're automatically opted out:

  • STOP
  • UNSUBSCRIBE
  • CANCEL
  • END
  • QUIT

Opted-out contacts are immediately blocked from receiving future messages.

Best Practices:

  • Include "Reply STOP to unsubscribe" in your first message to new contacts
  • Honor opt-outs immediately (our system does this automatically)
  • Keep opt-out records for at least 3 years for audit purposes
  • Never re-add opted-out contacts without fresh consent
  • Provide alternative opt-out methods (email, web form) for accessibility

Data Retention

GDPR requires you to only keep personal data as long as necessary. Here are our recommendations:

Note: You can manually purge old data from Settings → Data Retention. Regularly review and delete data you no longer need.

Record Keeping

GDPR requires you to keep records proving your compliance. We recommend maintaining:

  • Consent Records: When and how each contact opted in (tracked in consent source field)
  • Opt-Out Records: When contacts unsubscribed (automatically tracked in our system)
  • Data Processing Records: What data you collect and why
  • Third-Party Processors: List of services you use (Twilio, SignalWire, etc.)
  • Data Breach Procedures: Your incident response plan
  • Privacy Policy: Clear explanation of your data practices

Export Your Data:

Both you and your contacts have the right to access their data. Go Auto Pulse provides:
